The artistic understanding of the human form is a lifetime of study. Anatomy and structure (the study and analysis of the skeleton and muscular structure of the human figure) is learned through the use of live models, as well as reference to the skeleton and muscle structure. Students will understand the proportions of the human form through the study of the skeletal and muscle structure; this knowledge is then applies to the artist's interpretation of human proportions. Models perform dynamic gestural poses as well as extended poses. Instructors work intensely with students to develop drawing skills, engages them in the understanding of the human form and how to view it's physical characteristics. The study of the human form, still life and landscapes greatly enhance observational skills, drawing skills, and creative expression and is an essential component for visual artist. The fundamental techniques of painting are taught; practical color theory is applied, including paint handling, surface preparation, color mixing and self-expression. High school students work primarily in oils and are required to purchase their own oil paints, turpenoid, brushes; care and handling of these materials will be stressed. Critique, group discussion and individual attention occurs on a daily basis. Portfolio development will be emphasized for students in grades 11-12, with the understanding that drawing is the backbone of every successful college admission portfolio. In the afternoons, students will have the option of continuing their studies in drawing and painting or a choice of specialty disciplines: Ceramics, Fused Glass, or Character Design. This choice is made during the registration process and is for the entire 2 weeks. Pricing includes $50 material Fee and $25 registration fee, which are waived with the purchase of an annual membership.

Before-care from 8am-9am 10 hours $100
After-care from 4pm-6pm 20 hours $200
Combination of before & after-care 30 hours $275
High School Students in grades 8 - 12 now have an option to register for Anatomy & Structure - Figure Drawing courses either for credit or as an audited course.
Courses run in 2-week segments:
1/2 credit requires 1 session (2 weeks);
1 credit requires 2 consecutive 2-week segments
High School credit is awarded through Conservatory Prep Schools, which is fully accredited by SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools).
For grade satisfaction, students will need to submit a portfolio of their artwork and will need to demonstrate to the instructor mastery of knowledge of the skeletal and muscle structure of the human anatomy.
Daily attendance is required to receive credit. Classes run from 9am - 4pm.

For-Credit fees are reduced for returning and newly enrolled students for the 2017-18 school year of the Conservatory Prep School.
All Broward, Miami Dade, and Palm Beach County students grades 8 - 12 are welcome to attend the Fat Village Center for the Arts and will receive credit from the Conservatory Prep School.
