Did you know that summer students in Grades 8 - 12 can now receive High School Credits -- 1/2 Credit (Science or 2D Art) or 1 Full Credit (Science or 2D Art) for Anatomy and Structure? If your student is in 8th grade, he/she is eligible to participate in this new summer offering. Please click here to learn more.
Age appropriate lessons continue and build upon foundations of drawing and painting. Projects are repetitive but not redundant. Students build their knowledge of observation, design, composition, and creativity. Structural drawing is introduced, students will learn perspective, depth, proportion and scale. The learned use of line, form, and value of black and white drawing is now applied to color theory. With the obtained knowledge of color theory students will learn to represent objects using color harmonies and using color to represent all values. Students will be introduced to many drawing and painting mediums, with painting-handling techniques and color mixing introduced. In the afternoons, students will have the option of continuing their studies in drawing and painting or a choice of specialty disciplines: Ceramics, Fused Glass, or Character Design. This choice is made during the registration process and is for the entire 2 weeks. Pricing includes $50 material Fee and $25 registration fee, which are waived with the purchase of an annual membership.
