Fine Art Printmaking Foundation

This course will teach students the fundamentals of fine art print making including relief, intaglio, and monoprinting techniques. Students will learn to make plates, mix ink, set up the press, prepare paper, and pull prints. We will go over the concepts and aesthetics that have shaped printmaking throughout history and the reasons why print media is essential to the creative process for many artists. Students will leave the course with a working knowledge of print history, shop etiquette, and fine art print making as well as a portfolio of new prints.
