Age appropriate lessons continue and build upon foundations of drawing and painting. Projects are repetitive but not redundant. Students build their knowledge of observation, design, composition, and creativity. Structural drawing is introduced, students will learn perspective, depth, proportion and scale. The learned use of line, form, and value of black and white drawing is now applied to color theory. With the obtained knowledge of color theory students will learn to represent objects using color harmonies and using color to represent all values. Students will be introduced to many drawing and painting mediums, with painting-handling techniques and color mixing introduced. In addition to the morning core lessons, students may choose to spend time in alternative afternoon classes such as Character Development and Animal Drawing, Sci-Fi & Fantasy Illustration, Book Making, and Ceramics.
